Daniel grew up surrounded by the hum of bees, living next door to his Grandad who was an avid beekeeper with over 130 hives. While Daniel once saw helping his Grandad with honey harvesting as a chore, those summers among the hives quietly planted a seed of curiosity and respect for these incredible creatures — a passion that would later lead him to follow in his Grandad's footsteps.
Daniel's fiancé Alice grew up in the pretty village of Welburn in North Yorkshire. With Alice’s family still living in the village, and their own home just ten minutes away in the market town of Malton, it was the perfect location to set up the apiary in 2024. Here the bees freely forage the surrounding fields and woodlands, producing honey that captures the natural richness of the countryside.
In 2025, we had more honey than we could eat, so we decided to set up a small business — and Welburn Honey House was born. We soon expanded our range to include beeswax candles and crochet bees, all handmade by us, so there’s something for everyone. At Christmas time, we attended our first market in our local community and the response was truly heart-warming. We are excited to see where this journey leads — thank you for being here.
